Lecvturer Hend Elfiky from Cairo University published her newest research in June 2024 called ” Mapping the paleo-landscape features and middle or/and later Stone Age settlements
of Tokar region, North-eastern Sudan using Radar Sentinel-1 (GRD) imagery” (CICOPS Member 2021)
The research aims to identify and reconstruct several potential Stone Age sites using radar satellite (Sentinel1SAR GRD C-band) images in the Tokar region, North Eastern Sudan, on the western plain of the Red Sea. The data were processed utilizing the advantages of the Google Earth Engine platform and Snap software.

Researcher Justin Ombeni recently published his study carried out with Hellas Cena and Maria Vittoria Conti at the Laboratory of Dietetics and Clinical Nutrition, Department of Public Health, Experimental and Forensic Medicine of the University of Pavia and Clinical Nutrition and Dietetics Service, Unit of Internal Medicine and Endocrinology at Maugeri Hospital.

Her research investigates the role of Trichoderma, well-proven as biopesticides, biofertilizers, and biostimulants, in managing plant diseases in Africa. Specifically, the focus of the research is on tomato cultivation in Africa, which accounts the 11,8 % of the global production of tomatoes.

Lecturer and researcher Olanrewaju Sam Olayeriju from the Ondo State University of Science and Technology published his joint research with Adele Papetti, Raffaella Colombo, Barbara Mannucci, Mary Tolulope Olaleye and Akintunde Afolabi Akindahunsi carried out at the department of drug sciences, at the University of Pavia. He conducted an experiment on Triclisia gilletii leaf extract to elucidate phytochemical constituents. The identified constituents have possible contributively effect on the acclaimed pharmacological potential of Triclisia gilletii against ethane-1,2-diol induced nephrolithiasis.
