Professor Maria Sassi, vice president of CICOPS – an International Commission for Cooperation and Development of the Center GLOBEC – has been elected as the president of COOPI Suisse.

Prof. Sassi participates in several international research projects, supported by the European Union, International Organizations and NGOs, mainly focusing on food security issues in Sub-Saharan Africa. In addition, she has published articles in international journals on a variety of topics related to food security and agricultural development focused on the African context.

COOPI Suisse is a non-profit humanitarian non-religious and independent organization constituted on May 3rd, 2012, aims to contribute to a harmonious and integrated development of the communities with which it operates in developing countries.
